California Ballot Initiative:

"We are required to obtain 433,000 valid signatures by April 16, 1998.  Because validity rates in signature gathering is never 100%, we are aiming for 700,000 to be on the safe side of qualification. Leaving off a week to round up the petitions at the end, that leaves  91 days; or, about 7692.3 signatures per day, every day; or, 594.1 signatures per hour for 16 hours a day, every day." Dec '97
